Foundations Progress

Waterproof reinforced concrete retaining wall

The excavator does not have to hop across the trenches it drives over them.  Thankfully the substructure is strong and stable and the sun is still shining otherwise things would not quite so starightforward.

Tent Life

Tent life in Frampton Cotterell Big thanks to Steve Jo Lukas & Rafe - may the sunshine continue!

Cantilever base, retining wall concrete and BRICKS

Base of foundation ready for concrete This beam will support the cantilever slab

Retaining wall cast - not sure how the digger gets off the island!

Bad news on bricks: after spending so much time researching, selecting bricks, visiting brick works & buildings in London and  building sample panels I am informed that the preferred brick has gone from 'readily available' to 16 week delivery.  Seems all bricks are in short supply, so the economy is on the turn and we need bricks soon.

First Concrete Pour

Base concrete for the retaining wall to the high end of the site - pavement on the left and sloping yard to the rear.

Rear wall of the workshop with stepped reinforcement in place for the second pour of waterproof concrete.
The old concrete yard to the rear and old workshop slab to the right is being left in place to provide a storage area and avoid disturbing the neighbouring foundations.
